Goa is India's smallest state and is situated on the west coast, overlooking the Arabian sea. With around 120 km of coastline, there are many lovely beaches.

Baga Beach, one of Goa's scenic northern resorts, is a more peaceful adjunct to Calangute which was one of the early discoveries of the hippy tourists of the 60s and 70s who first spread the word about Goa as a traveller's paradise.

Colonia Santa Maria is situated right on Baga Beach, some 14 km from the capital city of Goa Panaji, 18 km from Tivim railway station and 45 km from Dabolim airport and Margao railway station.
